The new TFS e-mag Empire "Logo of the Millenium" was designed, produced, saved, and e-mailed by the one-and-only Chris Tedesco, smpmxracer@aol.com, who will now be showered with e-mail requests for more.  Check out his site at www.dirtrider.net/mxro.

November News:

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/30/99:

"Metzger is Awesome!"   -Overheard in Dilbertland in Pittsburgh

"Hellofa Show!"  -Uncle Joe, cactus grower and nap expert.

In an unscientific survey, PACE's FMX series gets two votes yes.  When FMX was on ESPN this week, the cubcile dwellers at the TFS 'day job' headquarters in Pittsburgh were talking about Metzger's stunts in San Diego.  It's not racing, but it got their attention for sure.

When the FMX series started in Fresno, I talked my uncle who lives in nearby Clovis into checking it out.  Uncle Joe had never seen any racing at all, but he and his ol' buddy Gordon were really impressed.  He is still talking about it.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/29/99:

The e-mag 2000 Photo Extras! section has a couple dozen more large photos from Bercy added, including about 10 photos of those awesome Pom-Poms!

Everyone is anxiously awaiting some encouraging news about Donovan Mitchell, who was injured at the Day in the Dirt event saturday.  If you hear anything, please post on Mtalk or e-mail sbroon@aol.com.

Thanks to "Homer" for pointing out I screwed up the first Donovan Mitchell wallpaper linked yesterday.  #20 at the US Open was Nathan Woods, not Mitchell.  He was #10.  I reposted with a correct photo.

ALSO:  Our travel correspondent Michelle Griffith is putting together a X-mas card address list for injured riders who are recovering from injuries right now.  If you have some contacts please e-mail to im4mcgrath@aol.com and she will post a list.

PAMO Honda will be Honda's official 250 GP team next year, featuring riders Bolley and Ryno!  That should put Ryno on a full-on works bike next year.  See MXLarge News for a full report.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/28/99:

Based on reports from some reliable folks on Mototalk, Donovan Mitchell was seriously injured at the "Day in the Dirt" event Saturday.  There was a scary pileup that put Mitchell in the hospital with a paralysis.  Right now there are no more details, but we know these can be temporary so please think about Donovan and wish him the best.

He impressed folks in October in the 4-stroke racing at the US Open, so at least put this photo on your PC and think about him, and watch Mototalk for updates.  Best wishes Donovan.

Supercross in Dodger Stadium?  If the Euros are ready to bring the FIM series back in 2000 that's what they have in mind, according to this report and race re-cap from our good friend Pascal Haudiquert.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/27/99:

MC won the German round of the FIM SX Series after passing Lusk on the first lap.  Lusk eventually slowed with something in his wheel.  Vuillemin won the title with a fourth.  Ward held second until Tortelli passed him near the end for second, and second in the series.  MC finished the series just one point behind Tortelli.

MC has been saying he is more ready for the US season to kick off than he has been!  He was reportedly on a rail in Germany, and was almost untouchable just a couple of weeks before at Bercy.  Expect him to start the EA Sports Supercross series with plenty of momentum.  If he maintains his traditional record of holding down the mistakes, he will be looking at title #7!

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/26/99:

This weekend's race is the final round of the FIM World Supercross Championships in Liepzig, Germany.  The FIM race is the last of three rounds.  The first two were at the Stade de France in Paris, and last weekend at the Rose Bowl.  Vuillemin leads the points after winning the first round and finishing fourth at the Rose Bowl.   MC, Lusk, Ward, Fro, and Ryno should be racing for America in Germany tomorrow.

Pedro Gonzales is the AX series leader.

Watch www.mxlarge.com or www.action-group.com for FIM SX results.

So far it has been quite a year for international riders!  Americans get to brag about the 250 SX title, the 125 west SX and outdoor nationals, the and the USGP, but that's about it right now.  Vuillemin is in a good position to take the FIM SX title (Reynard won it last year), Itailian Stefy Bau is the WML women's champ, Albee is the US 250 Outdoor champ, Italy won the dang MXdN, Ernesto from Costa Rica won the 125 east SX.  What's up with that?

The folks behind MC's official web home www.nacnac.com have been busy making some nice upgrades to that site, and in addition they added a voice chat room!   I checked it out last night at MC's sister Tracy was in there talking to our own travel reporter Michelle and rookie journalist Oggi.  It's way cool.

Oggi was a hit with the Arenacross folks.  He covered two events and they used some of his photos over on www.arenacross.com.   Check the Albany photos for a picture of Oggi.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/23/99:

Today a Media Project 2 went up to let media folks see previews of digital stuff that will be available for print right after each race next year.  The photos are un-edited modem-killers, but you can see the detail that is possible with a 2.5 megapixel camera.

The return of a classic! Bauer's first contribution to the TFS emag was scraped off the back of an old chair and re-released.

Our travel reporter Michelle Griffith has an update to the Paris (Bercy) trip on the guest's section of the e-mag.  Check it out!

Congratulations go out to DC and his new publisher Scott Wallenburg!  DC's announcement is found on Mototalk.  This is big news in the mag world, and we hope things work out.  Racer X is growing fast and will reach a new niche in the moto-mag market.  As you know DC has created a lifestyle magazine for moto folks, which is on a different level from the techie and product related mags you can find now.   Racer X has also been great for the web, both this site and others, at a time when the rest seem to ignore it.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/22/99:

There weren't any real surprises in the 250 class at Pasadena.   Lusk has pulled off his share of wire-to-wire wins before.  He might be one of the most overlooked Supercross talents because MC still gets the most attention.  At the post-event press conference both Lusk and MC mentioned the track was a little tight, and may have kept the passing to a minimum, and added a little stress to the process of getting around lappers.  Ward looked very strong in second on his KX.

It's too bad they don't have more after event press meetings like the Euros have.  Ward sounds sharp when he's talking about the races and he lets you know how much he enjoys his job racing.

DC mentioned right after the event that people might forget about the 250 main, but they won't forget about Pastrana winning his first ever 125 pro race!   Fonseca put plenty of pressure on him at the end and he held on while Fonseca bobbled and lost his charge on the last lap.   Pastrana was a hit with the crowd, and sounded good when he said "This is so cool!"

The EA Sports 125 east races will be a great matchup when Travis and Ernie get a chance to go at it for a whole series.  Both riders are very popular.

FIM Supercross, Round 2, Pasadena

02smlusk.jpg (12310 bytes)

Lusk topped the world at the first ever FIM World Championship Supercross held in the US.

Travis is for real!   He won the 125 class against top talent like Fonseca and Pingree.

02smtravis.jpg (16350 bytes)

In case you missed it...  Here's the links to some sample digi-photos that were uploaded from the Rose Bowl...

The FIM and Action Group teamed up with Speedvision's Dan Murphy to promote the Pasadena event.  Murphy's previous experience included the successful introduction of World Superbike road racing at Laguna Seca.  At press afterwards he acknowleged putting a Supercross together from scratch is tough!

DC was introducing a new publisher for Racer X at Pasadena!  This is a big deal so I will let him do the announcing.  Stay tuned...

Mototalker Hoosier posted the link to No Fear's web site.   The site design is first rate, check it out.

TFS e-mag 2000 had a special guest photohound at Pasadena!  Stephane Roncada was still recovering from surgery on his wrists, so he had time to try his luck with the spare digicam.  A special Roncada-cam feature will be up soon.

Oops.  I reported Pichon would be out for Pasadena - but he showed up with a limp and did pretty damn good considering his ankle injury just last friday at Bercy.

Chevy Trucks will be the new sponsor for the US Outdoor Motocross Series, as well as US Flat Track, and US Superbike!

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/19/99:

This weekend's featured event is round two of the FIM World Championship Supercross Series in the Rose Bowl, Pasadena Ca.  After some pit snooping in Paris and a press day report from Swap on Mototalk, the lineup looks like MC, Vuillemin, Fro, Ryno, Ward, Tortelli, Lusk, Huffman, the top Euros, and plenty more fast guys.  The list that is not there includes KW (staying home), RC (injured at Bercy), Pichon, (also injured at Bercy), current FIM SX champ Reynard (long recovery from US Open), Button, and Dowd (Swap says another injury).

At a press conference in Pasadena today, it was announced Chevorlet will become the new title sponsor for the outdoor national motocross series.

Also, don't look for web audio at the same place you did last year or the same TV folks as last year in EA Sports Supercross.   The buzz is Seals is out, and Speedvision is in.   I don't know if we are supposed to know that yet.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/16/99:

Coming next:  Albany Arenacross, and more cool stuff from Oggi!

FMXAnaheim2trplecfan.jpg (16557 bytes)

More stuff, Hoppen sent in more killer photos from a PACE FMX, this one was part of the Vans Triple Crown (Anaheim)!

Also added to the TFS e-mag 2000, complete news from Bercy (Click the News button on the right column)

Also, more photos and results were added to the Bercy report.

NEW Feature!  Michelle's first trip report in her own Mnews 2 section.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/14/99:

Sunday at Bercy (Third of three nights!)

Tonight will decide the "King of Bercy."  Vuillemin has a clear advantage with just 8 points to MC's 16.  The mechanical DNF MC had Friday left him with a costly 13th.  Fonseca's luck got even worse Saturday night after a crash filled night.  After the racing someone stole his gear and his mechanic Kenny Germain's stuff from the hotel next door.  What thieving dirtbags.   Errrgh.

DON"T miss this Motonews guest special on sniffing in Paris!

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/13/99:

Saturday at Bercy (Second of three nights!)

MC went 1-1. Vuillemin was awesome, but had to recover from a first lap crash in the second moto.

Fonseca's luck ran out, he had a bad night. He's OK, just some costly crashes. Rodrig Thain was the 125 winner.

RC broke his collar bone. I talked to him about it, he was in good sprits, just spectating.

KW and Lusk were fast, but no match for MC and Vuillemin so far.

The full story and more photos are up right now on TFS e-mag 2000.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/11/99:

We just got Four More wallpaper moto-cartoons from Walt!  Walt is doing a full set of twelve, one for each national track.  There is much more to see in this morning's e-mag 2000.  Hoppen sent in ph0.  Hs from last weekend's PACE FMX in San Diego.

There is GREAT news on Reynard's shoulder, he is recovering faster than expected at this point and is able to move his shoulder.  This means the nerve damage is repairing itself.

One of the inmates from Practice Track Mag is now practicing with rider apparel!  Check out his web site, and send dirtman1 a note telling him he should link back, that wanker!

Steve G sent this shot of Mike Metzger in his No Fear gear to show us the cool ad space he made on the side of his bike with the full side panels.

This was from the San Diego PACE FMX, which was again a great show according to those who went.

DC reports he is "in" for this weekend's Bercy trip, and so are globetrotters Rita "Voice of Reason" Coombs, Sondra, and our international photohound and behind-the-scenes expert Michelle!   This will be Michelle's third Bercy trip.  She was along for last year's MXdN in Swindon, England and did the pit photos for that report too.

The gear auction for Tony Haynes and Geoff Eberly brought in over $2,800!  Thanks goes out to all the folks who sent bids and got the goods.  I haven't had the pleasure of meeting either Tony or Geoff but I wish them the best and hope we at least made a difference.  This was our first attempt at a web auction so I hope it went OK.

If you had the high bid and want to get your item moving, Here's the rider gear auction final edit and instructions.

Speedvision.com will be revving up it's SX/MX coverage next year, but this has already started with a report on the Des Moines Arenacross last weekend, check it out! That's not really me riding Nick Wey's KX 125 on the report, I think that was just a photo credit.  Overall 2000 will be another year of growth for the coolest sport in the world, as seen on the web.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/8/99:

Bercy Update: Ward, no, Fro, no, Wey, no.  Dang!  At least we should still see a matchup between Vuillemin, MC, and RC, and hopefully Lusk and KW.

Nick Wey had so much fun at the Des Moines Arenacross he said he might do the next one in Albany this weekend.  He left with the series lead, nine points ahead of Pedro Gonzales. Speedy is doing the whole series, Wey isn't. Heath Voss was the 'terror of the whoops' at Des Moines!   He had a killer line on the inside and nailed the section so hard you could just about bet something interesting would happen at the end if he was following anyone in.   Denny Stephenson (Snoop)  also looked very strong all weekend, put him on the very likely title winner list - he wants this one.  Snoop got booed bigtime after planting Voss in Saturday's Dash for Cash, but he and his crew took it in stride and said hey, go ahead and boo, and enjoy the races!

Here's a link to a photo of Willoh...

Modem Killer:   Here's a link to a photo of Snoop!...

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/7/99:

Pedro Gonzales won Saturday's 125 class, Wey won the 250 class again.   Snoop had a great night!  A quick summary is up on the e-mag 2000.

Here's a sample wallpaper done with the new Olympus digicam...

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/6/99:

The list of US riders who are doing the three-night Omnisports de Bercy Supercross is getting shorter.  Button is out, and Fro is out.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/5/99:

If you didn't see the new MX Racer yet, check it out.  On page 11 Donn ran some quotes from Fro that are right on target!

Sometime today you should see the finished digital camera feature on the TFS e-mag 2000.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/4/99:

A certain Mototalk graduate that became world famous has a killer new job, but I can't say anything till this weekend...    Stay tuned for the announcement.

Who could it be?  Where will he show up this weekend?

Motonews is the home for Stefy Bau's official web site!  It still needs a little more added, but you can see it here.

PACE Motor Sports Sent over this Press Release on the Vans Triple Crown of FMX.  This starts in San Diego this weekend, so if you don't make Des Moines, you will have something to do!

Ernesto Fonseca won the 125 class at the Barcelona Supercross this weekend, with Sellards taking second.  This news came in from Ernie's good buddy Antonio, but we still don't know about the 250 class.

tfs_emag3.gif (420 bytes) 11/1/99:
